Finally I have done a piece dedicated to Ann Bishop's character, Jaenelle. I hope sometime in the future I will take away the white background and do a more proper background for the Queen of Ebon Askavi. I hope you fans out there enjoy this. This was my first piece to study colors and lighting and as the face came together, I got the inspiration that this is what Jaenelle would look like: Hair neglected, a few smudges of whatever potion she was mixing, and a mischievous smile.
As for the person I was doing the study on, I was using a picture of Claire Danes if you see any resemblence. I always thought that she would make the perfect Jaenelle if a movie was ever to be made.
Jaenelle/The Black Jewel's Trilogy copyrighted by Anne Bishop.

Your realism is very awesome. If I picked on one thing, maybe it would be the eye on the right being a bit too high and making the arches match. No one is perfectly symmetrical, but they tend to follow a similar pattern. Personally my own right eyebrow has a slightly higher arch than the left Someone else mentioned the nose. It might be slightly too wide, but in the essence that the sides of the nose match up to the tear ducts. But heck, if I could easily paint noses like that, I'd forget about the width. I'm not so bad with hair, but with noses and sometimes eyes, my hand just doesn't want to cooperate.
